Management change in Thunderful Group

Thunderful Group AB’s (“Thunderful”) CFO Anders Maiqvist has decided to leave his current position as CFO of Thunderful. Maiqvist will remain as CFO until the process of recruiting a successor is completed and will subsequently move into a new role supporting Thunderful in gaming M&A on a consulting basis.

Anders Maiqvist joined Bergsala as Chief Financial Officer in 2016. He has since been involved in consolidating the group of companies co-owned by Bergsala into Thunderful Group in 2019, where he took on the role as CFO, as well as with the subsequent IPO in December 2020. Going forward, Maiqvist will step down as CFO to instead focus on the M&A efforts within the Games segment on a consulting basis.

“I am grateful for my time as CFO at Thunderful and the progress that we have made during that period. During the IPO roadshows in the autumn of 2020, we presented a goal of completing one acquisition per quarter. We’ve acquired roughly twice as many gaming companies as we forecasted, and it’s clearly a successful component of our growth strategy which I will continue to work with from a consulting position,” says Anders Maiqvist.

Maiqvist remains as CFO until a successor has been firmly installed and the recruitment process for his replacement begins immediately.

“Anders has been a great asset to us in his position as CFO and a key person in the creation and subsequent IPO of Thunderful. We are very happy with Anders’ decision to continue focusing on M&A and structuring deals for us as a consultant. It is vital that we keep the momentum in our rapid growth by making further acquisitions,” says Thunderful Group CEO Brjann Sigurgeirsson. “We are now initiating a search for Anders’ successor as CFO. In the meantime it will be business as usual.”
